No one creates realms like New York Times bestselling author Anne Bishop. Now in a thrilling new fantasy series, enter a world inhabited by the Others, unearthly entities—vampires and shape-shifters among them—who rule the Earth and whose prey are humans.
As a cassandra sangue, or blood prophet, Meg Corbyn can see the future when her skin is cut—a gift that feels more like a curse. Meg’s Controller keeps her enslaved so he can have full access to her visions. But when she escapes, the only safe place Meg can hide is at the Lakeside Courtyard—a business district operated by the Others.

Shape-shifter Simon Wolfgard is reluctant to hire the stranger who inquires about the Human Liaison job. First, he senses she’s keeping a secret, and second, she doesn’t smell like human prey. Yet a stronger instinct propels him to give Meg the job. And when he learns the truth about Meg and that she’s wanted by the government, he’ll have to decide if she’s worth the fight between humans and the Others that will surely follow.

My Review:
5 STARS

This was such an original book, and I absolutely love it!! It's urban fantasy at its most creative. World building is unbelievably good. This is a must read for sci-fi/fantasy readers. You have to lend yourself to the imaginary world of supernaturals but it's so worth it. One of the best I've read this year.

Two Hot Choices Makes One Hot Read

Black Lies
By Alessandre Torre

Brant:
Became a tech billionaire by his twentieth birthday. Has been in a relationship with me for 3 years.
Has proposed 4 times. Been rejected 4 times.

Lee:
Cuts grass when he’s not banging housewives. Good with his hands, his mouth, and his cock. Has been pursued relentlessly by me for almost 2 years, whether he knows it or not.

Go ahead. Judge me. You have no idea what my love entails.

If you think you’ve heard this story before, trust me – you haven’t.

My Review:
5 HUGE STARS!!!!
Best book I have read in a while!!! Stayed up all night till I finished:) I don't want to give anything away because you get sucker-punched by this one. I found a new author to read! This is my first Alessandre Torre and I guarantee you it won't be my last. This is a book that crosses over genres and book lovers of many types. It has the new adult perspective but with plenty of romance - of  course a love triangle.. my favorite! And it has enough erotica but lightly done to appease those who want some sexier scenes. I was rooting for Brant the whole time:) Buy this and read it now!

New Adult Romance

Leo by Mia Sheridan

Evie and Leo met in foster care as children and formed a bond of friendship. As they grew, their bond turned to love, and they vowed to make a life together when they turned 18 and were no longer a part of the system.

When Leo unexpectedly gets adopted as a teen and he moves to another city, he promises Evie that he will contact her as soon as he gets there and come back for her in a few short years. She never hears from him again.

Now eight years later, in spite of the odds, Evie has made a life for herself. She has a job. She has friends. She's content. Then a man shows up out of the blue, claiming that her long lost love, Leo, sent him to check up on her. The attraction between them is undeniable. But, should she trust this sexy stranger? Or is he keeping a secret about what his connection to Leo is really all about and why Leo disappeared all those years ago?

THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY LEO. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

My Review:
 4 Stars
Mia Sheridan has a sweetness to her stories, and this one is no different. Leo and Evie grew up in the foster care system together and fell in love. They promised each other they would be together but then Leo moves out to California with his new family and they lose contact. Years later Jake Madsen approaches Evie and says Leo died. She is attracted to Jake and they begin a relationship, and the plot thickens a bit from there. Not nearly enough emotion or angst in this book with such a great storyline!! The connection was meh. I wish the author would have put Leo's side throughout the book in sequential order with Evie's story and maybe it would have been juicier. Mia is a good writer but her characters need to be more passionate.

YA Romance That makes you FEEL young again

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

Two misfits.
One extraordinary love.

Eleanor
... Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough...Eleanor.

Park... He knows she'll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There's a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises...Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

My Review:

What a sweet book about first love! This book makes you FEEL and remember all the stirrings of young love and how wonderful , confusing and embarrassing it can be all at one time. Park and Eleanor are misfits at their school- he being part Korean and her being new and big with weird clothes and big red hair. They end up sitting by each other on the bus and their relationship blossoms from there slowly and awkwardly and then deeply and just beautifully. He is her champion in every way. Her life as terrible and poverty stricken as it is becomes good with him in her life.
